The Hastings Law Journal gladly considers unsolicited manuscripts by members of the legal community for publication. We strongly prefer submissions on-line via ExpressO, and we accept submissions via mail and email.

The Journal also welcomes both formal and informal responses to articles appearing in the Journal and will consider such responses for publication.

Format

Submissions should be double-spaced, typewritten on 8.5" x 11" paper, with citations in either footnote or endnote style.

Citations must conform to The Bluebook (18th ed. 2005).

All submissions should by accompanied by a cover letter and a brief abstract. All necessary contact information should also be included.

Expedited Review

In the event an author is presented with a deadline from another publication, we will make every effort to expedite review of their work. Unfortunately, we will only be able to expedite review during the school year (mid-August through mid-May).

To request an expedited review, please send an email to hlj@hastingslawjournal.org. Expedite requests should include the author's name, the title of the article, the name(s) of the offering journal(s), and the deadline date.
