California Court of Appeal:

INTERESTING CASE ON VALENTINE'S DAY:  Oral arguments in the litigation challenging the constitutionality of the California Stem Cell Research and Cures Act (Proposition 71) will be heard by the First District Court of Appeal on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at 9 a.m., at 350 McAllister Street!!

The calendar for the California Court of Appeal is posted  at http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/courts/calendars/.  For cases heard in San Francisco, look for the calendar of the First Appellate District.  Cases are heard in the same courtroom used by the California Supreme Court, on the 4th floor, 350 McAllister Street.  

US Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit

Panels of three judges sit in four different courtrooms, hearing half a dozen cases a day daily for three to four hours (with one short break), at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco.

Current Newsworthy Cases 

The Court appreciates knowing in advance if a group plans to attend to assure sufficient seating (sometimes in an overflow courtroom with a video feed). Contact Kathleen Butterfield, a court staff attorney, to make arrangements or for other information about court attendance, at 415.556.9884.

California Supreme Court

The California Supreme Court hears cases at its courtroom at 350 McAllister Street, Fourth Floor, San Francisco, several times a year. If you wish to bring a group, you would be well advised to contact the Clerk of the Court in advance, as courtroom space is limited.
